The cryptocurrency sector may be set to grow significantly, hitting a record US$1 trillion in the next six months, according to a new survey by The Association of Financial Analysts.
In total, the largest proportion of respondents (42 percent) expected the market to return to growth, either returning to the peaks reached at the end of 2017 or exceeding them, while 33 percent expect the sector stagnate in the short term, remaining around the US$250 billion level.
Nearly a quarter of respondents believe the cryptocurrency market will rocket above the US$1 trillion mark, with 18 percent forecasting that it will rebound to peak 2017 levels.
A further 12 percent expect the market to shrink to below US$100 billion while only around nine percent expect an upcoming collapse in the sector, to US$1 billion or less.
The findings are due to be published in the Association of Financial Analysts forthcoming cryptocurrency report.
